Blue Star, Amed, Bali

-This review was based on my stayed on May 2015 as published on my trip advisor account-

3 friends and me had a spontaneous trip to Amed last weekend and ended spent a night at Blue Star. After read the review on trip advisor, on our way to Amed we decided to give a call and check if there is any room available. Arrived at 9.30pm Ibu Iluh still open the door for us. We took the family bungalow for 4 of us. Cost at Rp.500,000 – with breakfast included.

The Goods — friendly owner, good snorkeling spot, spacious room, nice veranda and quite hotel.

Ibu Iluh is so friendly and kind. Show us all the available rooms, cater our request for ice at night, and give discount for the room since we arrived quite late. I left my power-bank and charger at the hotel, and she is kindly mail it to me by post at no cost.

Breakfast was tasty. I had coconut pancake with brown sugar and fruit salad. Tea and Coffee was ready on our veranda in the morning. Able to have breakfast on the beach is a plus!

The way to go to this hotel is a bit tricky. Need quite a driving skill to go down the road especially at night. But the location is really good for snorkeling. Some coral reef located just in front of the hotel! We saw a lot of Blue Starfish in the area. Maybe that’s why the hotel called Blue Star ☺ Snorkeling gear (goggles, snorkel, and fins) rent cost Rp 30,000. Life vest is additional at Rp.20,000.

The cleanliness of the room should be improved indeed! As I mention earlier, our bungalow is really spacious, but it was quite dusty. The first floor equipped with double bed for 2 people, and on the second floor there are 2 matrasses that can cater 2 – 3 people. Just before unpack our stuff we found a small dead mouse and cockroach on the second floor, which attract many ants. I hope they can check the room properly before offer it to us. Other than that we enjoy our stay at Blue Star 🙂
